Brett is a professional senior manager with over 26 years’ experience in the aviation industry and has worked within various sectors of aviation including: Commercial, VIP Business, General Aviation for both fixed wing and helicopters operators, he has also served in the Armed Forces. Brett has successfully established EASA Part 145 maintenance facilities for VVIP operations and OEM Service Centre status enabling him to gain a thorough understanding of the business operational needs.
Brett has delivered and managed aircraft maintenance projects (including civil, military, and specialist aircraft role utility programs), modification programs, and air-worthiness requirements. Interfacing with customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies he has a strong commercial awareness and has developed business strategies, managed budget control and the implementation of system controls. Brett holds a EASA Part 66 B2 / C plus other recognized national qualification qualifications including ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
Brett takes an active interest in supporting aviation organisations and contributes towards various engineering committees and associations such as European Independent Maintenance Group (EIMG), Farnborough Aerospace Consortium (FAC) and the West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF).
Brett has both operational and strategic management experience; he is a focused individual who is conscientious of his professional standing. His experience includes building team dynamics – especially with regard to the management of remote teams – and the performance development and coaching of colleagues to further their abilities. Brett has the ability to implement, positively promote and drive change. Abbey has been in the aviation industry for over 20 years. The early part of her career was spent building a foundation in aviation skills and working on the shop floor maintenance environment, in a hands-on role maintaining light aircraft to wide body aircraft gaining recognised mechanical engineering qualifications and her EASA Part 66 B1 License then, working for an aircraft maintenance company.
During the last 10 years Abbey moved in to Quality and Compliance Management initially as a Quality Engineer then, becoming a Lead Auditor and eventually the Quality & Compliance Manager. Within this working environment, she has worked in all aspects of quality including and maintaining regulatory approvals for EASA Part 145 – Maintenance Organisation, Part M Aircraft – Management, Part 147 – Approved Training Organisation, Part 21J (Design Organisation Approval) and Part G (Production Organisation Approval) and ISO 9001 standards.
Abbey has a passion for improving the perception of quality, safety and compliance within the aviation industry. Thereby, combining quality, compliance with the added advantage of improving efficiency within any organisation. Her commitment, high level of professionalism, and drive to improve the standards within the industry has ensured she has been successful in the projects under her responsibility.
As a senior manager, she has built solid relationships internally with other departments and externally with customers to enable quality and compliance to be the focal point within any successful organisation. Having a proactive and approachable approach to communicating, Abbey has been able to create a working environment whereby the culture encourages safety and reporting.
As a quality manager, Abbey has worked in cooperation with various international civil aircraft aviation regulators including departments of the armed forces in developing certification approvals and pathways in order to accomplish successful project outcomes.
